This presentation and discussion introduced the pressure differential system, design requirements, relevant standards, and solutions. We would like to express our gratitude to all the guests, teachers, and engineers who participated in the event.

In Khanbogd soum, Umnugovi Province, an air-to-air heat pump was installed and handed over for use in a private residence. This heating/cooling solution captures thermal energy from the outdoor air and raises it to a high temperature level. By installing the Chinese brand “AOKOL” air-to-air heat pump, homeowners can heat their homes with minimal electricity consumption, eliminate the need for solid fuels, and create a healthier, safer living environment. This system provides heating during winter and cooling during summer.

An air-to-water heat pump, designed to provide both heating and domestic hot water, was installed in the model test building of the School of Civil Engineering at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology.

This time, we installed an air-to-water heat pump in a three-story house with a total area of 400 m². The system extracts thermal energy from the outdoor air and raises it to a high temperature level, providing an efficient heating solution that consumes 2 to 4 times less electricity than conventional electric heaters, making it a cost-effective choice for users.

We have installed and handed over an air-to-air heat pump for a Mongolian ger. By installing the air-to-air heat pump from China’s AOKOL company in a Mongolian ger, it is possible to achieve heating with low electricity consumption, eliminate the need for solid fuel, and create a healthy and safe living environment.

Occupational safety and health refers to activities aimed at preserving a worker’s capacity to work and maintain good health during the course of their work by creating safe and healthy conditions. These activities include social, economic, organizational, technical, sanitary, and hygienic measures, as well as treatment, care, rehabilitation, and protection from risks.

During industrial processes, various harmful gases, vapors, and dust are released into the air. In rooms with a high concentration of people, heat, moisture, and carbon dioxide are also generated, altering the chemical and physical properties of the surrounding air. If the air composition and cleanliness constantly deviate from permissible limits, it can harm human health, reduce work productivity, and disrupt normal industrial operations. A ventilation system is designed to remove contaminated air from a space and supply fresh air, ensuring an optimal environment that meets sanitary, hygienic, and technological requirements.

What is a Pellet? A pellet is a processed fuel made by compressing wood waste such as sawdust and wood shavings produced during wood processing. It has very low moisture content and produces minimal ash residue. Pellets, according to standards, are about 6 mm or 8 mm in diameter and 20–30 mm in length, and are considered a high-calorific fuel. How to Identify Quality Pellets? In European Union countries, quality pellets can be identified by the ENplus certification, as well as the A1 marking, which indicates premium quality intended for residential use.

A heat pump is a device capable of extracting thermal energy from the surrounding environment — such as water, ground, or air — and upgrading it to a higher temperature level for use in space heating, domestic hot water production, or swimming pool heating. To achieve this, a small amount of electrical power is supplied to the compressor motor to ensure proper operation of the system.

The reuse of wastewater and rainwater has become an increasingly interesting and important topic. While most countries have yet to make such systems mandatory, several nations in southern Europe — facing potable water shortages — are now compelled to conserve fresh water and seek alternative drinking water sources. The cost of treating certain types of used water is generally lower than that of desalinating seawater. For this reason, many modern office buildings and hotels are being designed in line with energy-efficient building standards that incorporate greywater and rainwater reuse systems.

The fire sprinkler system was invented more than 120 years ago. Since then, hundreds of millions of sprinkler heads have been installed worldwide. Over this period, the system has effectively protected thousands of buildings from fire hazards, helped countless business owners avoid financial crises, saved innumerable lives, and safeguarded the environment from fire-related pollution disasters.Globally, it is regarded as one of the most effective and proven methods for extinguishing fires.

Due to the growing social needs and the rapid mechanical increase of population in urban areas, there is now a strong tendency to construct high-rise buildings for residential and commercial purposes in limited spaces. In today’s environment, it is essential to fully equip public buildings, where large numbers of people gather, with fire prevention and alarm protection systems that comply with both Mongolian and international standards. Globally, 3.8 million fire incidents are recorded annually, resulting in the loss of 45,500 lives. Three-quarters of these fatalities occur due to smoke inhalation, and 57% of victims were not even in the room where the fire started, according to international research. In Mongolia, as of 2017, a fire occurs every two hours, causing the death of over 50 people each year and inflicting property damage worth more than 3.5 billion MNT. Notable examples of fire incidents in public buildings include the Naran Tuul International Trade Center (2013) and Sunday Plaza (2013 and 2015).
